Myth: Some types of cancer can be contagious.
Fact: Cancer is not at all contagious. Viruses such as HPV and Hepatitis C are those that are known to cause cancer and these can spread with unprotected sexual intercourse or sharing needles and so on.
Myth: Deodorants can cause cancer.
Fact: There is no conclusive evidence from recent studies that wearing deodorants can cause breast cancer.
Myth: Only women get breast cancer.
Fact: This is by far the biggest cancer myth of all. Men too get breast cancer. Some even die of breast cancer.
Myth: Cancer causes hair loss.
Fact: Cancer does not cause hair loss. Hair loss is a side effect of cancer treatments, like chemotherapy and radiation therapy. However, sometimes even these treatments do not cause hair loss.
Myth: Cellphones cause cancer.
Fact: There is no research to prove that cell phone usage can cause cancer.
